WK160 Waterborne Alkyd Coatings

WH-WK160 uses water-based alkyd resin as film-forming material and water-based anti-rust pigment with anti-corrosion effect as filler. This product has high solid content and low VOC content at construction viscosity, and self-crosslinks at room temperature, thus having excellent appearance and anti-corrosion performance.

Overview

WH-WK160 is a waterborne coating formulated with waterborne alkyd resin as the film-forming substance and water-based anti-rust pigments with corrosion protection as fillers. Characterized by high solid content at application viscosity and low VOC content, this product undergoes ambient-temperature self-crosslinking, delivering excellent appearance and corrosion resistance.

Packaging, Storage & Shelf Life20 kg packaging. Store in accordance with national regulations. Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place away from excessive heat. Ensure tightly sealed containers. Shelf life: 6 months.

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation
WH-WK160 is designed for direct application on steel surfaces pretreated by sandblasting to Sa2.5 grade in accordance with Swedish standard SIS055900. All surfaces must be free of grease, moisture, or other contaminants before sandblasting. Contact our company for any questions.
Mixing and Dilution
WH-WK160 should be stirred before use. Stir the base material for no more than 5 minutes until smooth and uniform. Dilution is generally not required or recommended, as excessive dilution may adversely affect application and film performance. A variable-speed electric stirrer is recommended.
Application
WH-WK160 can be applied by traditional spraying or airless spraying. When using airless equipment, a Graco 30:1 pump with a nozzle size of 0.43–0.58 mm is recommended to ensure good material flow. To achieve optimal coating performance, ensure equipment and fluid lines are clean and free of water and solvents, and maintain proper and uniform film thickness. A spray angle of 40°/70° is recommended. For roller application, use new short-fine-hair rollers.

Safety Measures

  • Warning: May cause eye and skin irritation. Vapors may cause respiratory irritation in sensitive individuals. May cause skin allergic reactions. Avoid inhaling vapors. Do not contact eyes or skin.
  • Use protective equipment for eyes, ears, and skin. Wear a suitable respirator to prevent potential respiratory irritation.
  • Thoroughly wash skin with water after use. Consult a doctor if discomfort occurs.
  • Wash clothing before reuse. If breathing stops, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and seek medical attention immediately.
  • In case of eye contact, flush with 清水 (clean water) for at least 15 minutes and seek immediate medical care.
