Application Guidelines
Surface Preparation
Sandblast to at least Sa2 grade. For temporary surface protection, apply appropriate shop primer. Before final spraying, clean damaged shop primer and contaminated areas from storage and processing, and touch up with this product.
For maintenance: Remove oil and grease with appropriate cleaning agents, and eliminate salts and other contaminants with (high-pressure) fresh water. Remove rust and loose paint layers by sandblasting or power tools. Sweep away residues and touch up to achieve full film thickness.
Mixing and Thinning
AK111 is a single-component product. Stir the paint to a uniform consistency for no more than 2-3 minutes.
Dilution is generally unnecessary or undesirable. If required for application purposes, add a small amount of thinner (5% or less), subject to local VOC and air quality regulations.
Application
AK111 can be applied by conventional spraying, high-pressure airless spraying, roller painting, or brush painting.
Ventilation: Maintaining good ventilation in enclosed spaces is critical for applicators’ safety and the product’s proper performance. Air must be dry, as application is not permitted at humidity >85%.
Safety Measures
Warning:
May cause eye and skin irritation. Vapors may cause respiratory irritation in sensitive individuals. May cause skin allergic reactions.
Avoid inhaling vapors. Do not contact eyes or skin. Use eye, ear, and skin protection equipment. Wear a suitable mask to prevent potential respiratory irritation.
Thoroughly wash skin with water after use. Consult a physician if discomfort occurs. Wash clothing before reuse.
In case of respiratory arrest, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and seek medical attention immediately. If eyes are accidentally exposed, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a doctor promptly.
