Surface Preparation

Substrate Requirements

  • Concrete strength ≥C25; flatness ≤3mm deviation over 2m straightedge.
  • The floor must have a curing period of at least 28 days before construction to achieve the best results.
  • The optimal construction temperature: 5–35°C (avoid application below 5°C).
  • Substrate moisture ≤5%; ambient humidity ≤80%. Otherwise, problems such as blistering may occur, affecting the appearance.
  • Ensure dust-free and ventilated environment (avoid strong airflow).
Surface Treatment:

Grind the substrate to remove contaminants, loose layers, and create a rough surface for enhanced adhesion.

Primer Application:

Use WANSHIELD®62201 Solvent-Free Epoxy Primer or WANSHIELD®62305 Universal Epoxy Primer.

Apply via trowel or roller (0.15–0.25 kg/m²). If necessary, apply a second coat of primer or repair the missed coating areas.

Intermediate Mortar Layer:

After primer curing, mix WANSHIELD®62208 Solvent-Free Epoxy Intermediate Coating (A:B ratio as specified) with 80–120 mesh quartz sand. Apply evenly via trowel. paying attention to ensuring no missed coating or material accumulation. Since the surface of the intermediate mortar layer is generally rough, it is necessary to apply putty to level the construction substrate and fill the gaps to ensure a flat surface for the topcoat and a good decorative effect.

Intermediate Putty Layer:

After the intermediate mortar layer is dry, mix Components A and B of WANSHIELD®62208 solvent – free epoxy intermediate coating in proportion, add an appropriate amount of quartz powder or putty powder, and stir thoroughly. Then, spread it with a trowel to level the surface, remove the dust in the cut joints, pour the prepared putty slurry, and spread it to form a flat surface. Ensure no missed coating or material accumulation.

Topcoat Application:

Mix WANSHIELD®62205 components (A:B=7:1 by weight) thoroughly using a high-speed mixer. stir thoroughly with a high – speed mixer to prevent problems such as color difference and incorrect ratio caused by sedimentation and stratification
Pour onto the floor, spread with a serrated trowel, and use a spiked roller to remove air bubbles.

Construction Parameters

  • Pot life (25°C): 1.5 hours after mixing.

  • Diluent: Not allowed.

  • Recoat interval: 24 hours under standard conditions (25°C, 60% humidity).

ParameterDetails
Mixing Ratio (by Weight)Component A: Component B = 7:1. After mixing, use a high – speed mixer to stir thoroughly.
Pot Life (25°C)1h30min (1h when poured on the ground). The higher the temperature, the shorter the pot life. Construction is generally not recommended when the ambient temperature during construction is higher than 35°C.
DiluentNo diluent is allowed to be added to the paint.
Recoating IntervalThe next construction process can be carried out only after confirming that the coating is completely dry. Usually, the interval under standard environmental conditions is 24 h.
Note: The drying time is measured under standard conditions (25°C, 60% humidity) and is for reference only. The drying speed varies greatly under different temperatures and humidities, and is also affected by factors such as film thickness, ventilation conditions, and underlying coatings. Generally, the drying time shortens as the temperature rises and lengthens as the temperature drops.
Before formal project construction, the buyer must conduct tests in an environment consistent with the construction conditions to ensure the reliability of the coating system for the specific project. Formal construction is regarded as the buyer’s recognition of the product’s performance inspection. If the above operations are not followed, all responsibilities shall be borne by the buyer.
