Overview

WH-EF111 Phenolic Epoxy Coating is a two-component, high-build epoxy primer that can also be used as a topcoat. It features exceptional abrasion resistance, high-temperature resistance, corrosion protection, seawater resistance, ablation resistance, chemical resistance, and a high solid content.

Product Features

  • Excellent resistance to seawater, chemicals, and crude oil.
  • Superior thick-film application properties, as well as outstanding wear and impact resistance.
  • Wide (construction temperature) range, operable between -5°C and 40°C.
  • Good compatibility with various topcoats, including epoxy topcoats, polyurethane topcoats, alkyd topcoats, chlorinated rubber topcoats, and one-component acrylic topcoats.

Recommended Applications

  • Can be used alone as a universal primer for ballast tanks and various parts of ships, as an integrated primer/topcoat for the inner linings of chemical plant storage tanks, or in combination with other paint systems.
  • Provides excellent anti-corrosion performance in both freshwater and seawater environments.

Application Guidelines

ProcedureDetails
Surface Preparation– New steel: Blast to Sa2.5 standard. Before final application, thoroughly clean damaged shop primer and contaminated areas during storage and processing. Repair damaged parts with this product or other specified epoxy paint.
– Other metals: Create a rough surface and clean with solvent to ensure dryness and freedom from impurities.
– Maintenance: Remove grease with appropriate cleaners. Use high-pressure fresh water to remove salts and other contaminants. Remove loose rust and debris by sandblasting or power tools. Smooth corners, sweep away residues, and apply complete paint film to achieve the original film thickness.
Mixing & DilutionWH-EF111 is a two-component product with a defined mixing ratio. Use the entire contents of each bucket after mixing. First, stir the base material until uniform (no more than 2 minutes), then slowly add the curing agent and stir for 3 minutes. A variable-speed power stirrer is recommended. Avoid over-stirring, as it may accelerate curing and shorten the product’s pot life. High temperatures shorten the pot life, while low temperatures extend it.
ApplicationWH-EF111 can be applied by airless spraying, brush coating, or roller coating. Ensure good ventilation in confined spaces. Avoid applying in the presence of standing water or rain. For airless spraying, use a 0.53mm nozzle with an output pressure of 17.5 MPa for optimal results.
Safety MeasuresWarning: Irritating to eyes and skin. Vapors may cause respiratory allergies in sensitive individuals. May cause skin allergic reactions. Avoid inhaling vapors. Keep away from eyes and skin. Wear protective gear for ears, eyes, and skin. Use a suitable respiratory protector to avoid potential respiratory irritation. Thoroughly wash skin after use. Wash clothes before reuse. In case of no breathing, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and seek immediate medical attention. If eyes are contaminated, rinse with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a doctor immediately.
