Application Guidelines
Surface Preparation
- New steel: Blast cleaning to Sa2.5 standard. Apply a suitable shop primer if necessary to protect the blasted surface.
- Before final application, thoroughly remove damaged shop primer and contaminants from storage, transportation, and processing. Repair damaged areas with this product or other specified epoxy coatings to achieve the original film thickness.
Mixing Instructions
- As a two-component product with a defined mixing ratio, fully combine materials from each container before use.
- Stir the base material until uniform (no more than 2 minutes), then slowly add the curing agent and continue stirring. Use a variable-speed power mixer. Avoid over-stirring to prevent accelerated curing and shortened pot life.
- High temperatures shorten the pot life; low temperatures extend it.
Application Requirements
- Applicable methods: airless spraying, brush coating, roller coating. Ensure good ventilation in confined spaces.
- Avoid application in the presence of standing water or rain. For airless spraying, use a 0.53mm nozzle with an output pressure of 17.5 MPa for optimal results.
- Minimum flash-off time: For container coating lines with 40μm dry film thickness, allow sufficient flash-off time before overcoating.
- Maximum recoating interval: 24 hours for acrylic/chlorinated rubber topcoats; 3 days for polyurethane topcoats. No maximum interval for epoxy topcoats, but ensure the surface is clean of dirt, grease, and salts if the interval is prolonged.
Safety Precautions
- Irritating to eyes and skin; vapors may cause respiratory allergies in sensitive individuals. Risk of skin allergic reactions.
- Avoid inhaling vapors. Prevent contact with eyes and skin. Use protective equipment for eyes, skin, and respiration.
- In case of inhalation, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and seek medical attention immediately.
- In case of eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.
- Wash skin thoroughly after use. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
