Overview
WH-EP143 is a two-component epoxy primer containing zinc phosphate anti-rust pigments. After film curing, it forms a flexible and adherent coating with excellent wear and impact resistance. It can cure at -10°C and offers superior corrosion resistance. As a primer, it is suitable for hot-dip galvanized, aluminum, and stainless-steel surfaces in medium-to-severe corrosion environments. It is also ideal for surfaces that cannot be sanded rough.

Application Guidelines
Surface Preparation
- Stainless steel or container steel surfaces: Remove dust, grease, etc., with appropriate cleaners. Clean with high-pressure fresh water. Recommended: Sand the surface to improve roughness.
- Galvanized, silicone-zinc, or metal-sprayed surfaces: Remove dust, grease, etc., with appropriate cleaners. Use high-pressure fresh water to eliminate salts and other contaminants, ensuring complete removal. Scrub with a stiff nylon brush if necessary to remove zinc white. For metal-sprayed surfaces, recoat promptly to avoid contamination.
Mixing and Dilution
- As a two-component product, WH-EP143 requires strict ratio control. Mix all material in each drum thoroughly.
- Stir the base material until uniform (no more than 2 minutes), then slowly add the curing agent and stir for 3 minutes. Use a variable-speed power mixer. Avoid over-stirring to prevent accelerated curing and shortened pot life.
- High temperatures reduce pot life; low temperatures extend it.
Application
- Applicable methods: airless spraying, brush, and roller. Ensure good ventilation in confined spaces.
- Avoid applying in the presence of standing water or rain. For airless spraying, use a 0.53mm nozzle at 17.5 MPa pressure for optimal results.
Recoating Intervals
- Minimum: For container paint production lines with 40μm dry film thickness, allow at least 20 minutes of flash-off time before recoating.
- Maximum: Acrylic/chlorinated rubber topcoats: within 24 hours; Polyurethane topcoats: within 3 days; Epoxy topcoats: no maximum interval, but clean the surface of dirt, grease, and salts if the interval is excessively long.
Safety Precautions
- Warning: Irritating to eyes and skin. Vapors may cause respiratory allergies in sensitive individuals. May induce skin allergic reactions.
- Preventions: Avoid inhaling vapors. Prevent contact with eyes and skin. Use protective gear for eyes, ears, and skin. Use a suitable respirator to avoid potential respiratory irritation. Thoroughly wash skin after use. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
- First Aid: In case of respiratory arrest, perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and seek immediate medical attention. For eye contact, flush with clean water for at least 15 minutes and consult a doctor promptly.
