Recommended Applications

As an intermediate coat in epoxy paint systems for severely corrosive environments, or as a topcoat when decorative requirements are not high.
As an intermediate coat or topcoat in low – temperature curing systems when decorative requirements are not high.

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation

New Steel: Blast to Sa2.5 standard. When necessary, apply a suitable shop primer to protect the blasted surface. Before final application, thoroughly clean the damaged shop primer and contaminated areas during storage and processing. Repair the damaged parts with this product or other specified epoxy paints.
Maintenance: Remove grease with a suitable cleaner. Remove salt and other contaminants with high – pressure fresh water. Remove loose rust and other loose materials by blasting or power tools. Smooth the edges and corners, sweep away the residues, and apply a complete paint film to achieve the original film thickness.

Mixing and Dilution

WH – EP151 is a two – component product with the correct component ratio. It is necessary to mix all the paint in each drum before use. First, stir the base material until it is uniform and smooth, which should not take more than 2 minutes. Then, slowly add the curing agent and stir for 3 minutes. A variable – speed power stirrer is recommended. Do not over – stir, as this will accelerate curing and shorten the product’s pot life. High temperature will shorten the pot life of the mixture, while low temperature can extend it. Generally, no dilution is required. If necessary, a small amount of thinner (5% or less) can be added, depending on local regulations on VOC and air quality.

Application

WH – EP151 can be applied by airless spraying, brush painting, and roller painting. Good ventilation is necessary when applying in confined spaces. Avoid applying in the presence of standing water or rain. When using airless spraying, a pump with a ratio of 60:1 or larger is recommended. To achieve good spraying results, use a nozzle of 0.48 – 0.53 mm and an output pressure of 175 bar.

Wear protective equipment for ears, eyes, and skin. Use a suitable respiratory protector to avoid potential respiratory irritation. Thoroughly wash skin after use. Clothes should be washed before wearing. If breathing stops, give mouth – to – mouth artificial respiration and seek medical attention immediately.
First Aid: If accidentally contacted with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes, and wash the contacted skin with soap.
