Description

Overview

WH-EP152 is a two-component polyamide-cured epoxy mica iron oxide intermediate paint. The paint film exhibits excellent water resistance, abrasion resistance, and impermeability, along with outstanding corrosion resistance and superior low-temperature curing performance.

Recommended Applications

  • As an intermediate coat in epoxy paint systems for severe corrosion environments, or as a topcoat when decorative requirements are low.
  • As an intermediate coat or topcoat in low-temperature curing systems when decorative requirements are not strict.

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation
  • New Steel: Blast clean to Sa2.5 standard. When necessary, apply a suitable shop primer to protect the blasted surface. Before final application, thoroughly clean damaged shop primer and contaminated areas during storage and processing. Repair damaged areas with this product or other specified epoxy paints.
  • Maintenance: Remove grease with a suitable cleaner. Remove salts and other contaminants with high-pressure fresh water. Remove loose rust and other loose materials by blasting or power tools. Grind sharp edges, sweep away debris, and apply a complete paint film to achieve the original film thickness.
Mixing and Thinning
WH-EP152 is a two-component product with a precise component ratio. Use after fully mixing each barrel of paint. First, stir the base material until uniform and smooth, no more than 2 minutes, then slowly add the curing agent and stir for 3 minutes. A variable-speed power stirrer is recommended. Avoid over-stirring, as this will accelerate curing and shorten the product’s pot life. High temperatures will shorten the mixture’s pot life, while low temperatures will extend it. Generally, no thinning is required. If necessary, add a small amount of thinner (5% or less), subject to local VOC and air quality regulations.
Application
WH-EP152 can be applied by airless spraying, brush painting, and roller painting. Ensure good ventilation when applying in confined spaces. Avoid applying in the presence of standing water or rain. When using airless spraying, a pump with a ratio of 60:1 or higher is recommended. Use a 0.48-0.53mm nozzle and an output pressure of 175bar for good spraying results.
