Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Keep away from incompatible materials and food containers. Store in the original container and keep it tightly sealed. No smoking, open flames or ignition sources. Protect containers from physical damage.

 

Avoid contact with water, alcohols, strong alkalis, metal compounds or detergent solutions. This material reacts with water to generate a large amount of foam, carbon dioxide and heat. Foaming in a confined space may cause pressure build-up. Isocyanates may corrode and embrittle certain plastics and rubbers.

 

WANNATE® IT-170Splus can be diluted with polar solvents such as esters, ketones and ether esters, e.g., butyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate, as well as aromatic hydrocarbons. Generally, it has good compatibility with the solvents listed above, but the storage stability of the prepared solution should still be tested. Only urethane-grade solvents (water content < 0.05%, no reactive groups such as hydroxyl and amino groups in the solvent) shall be used.

 

Stable solutions with a minimum solid content of 20% can be prepared by diluting WANNATE® IT-170Splus with xylene, toluene or high-boiling aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphtha 100 or aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures. To extend the storage stability of the diluted solution, aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents should not be added. However, WANNATE® IT-170Splus is compatible with aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents to a certain extent, so it can be added to coating systems containing aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents.

 

In general, WANNATE® IT-170Splus is compatible with the following products: aliphatic polyisocyanates (e.g., WANNATE® HT-100, HB-100), aromatic polyisocyanates, polyester polyols, polyacrylates and alkyd resins. Compatibility testing must be conducted before blending.

 

This product is sensitive to moisture. When stored in the original sealed container under cool and dry conditions at 0~30℃, the shelf life is 6 months.

 

General information: Storage temperature above 30℃ will cause an increase in viscosity and color number. Crystallization or precipitation may occur when the storage temperature is below 0℃. Such solidification is reversible by brief heating and will not affect product quality.
