Product Introduction

The environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends do not contain CFC – 11 (Freon) and are suitable for use in environments with temperatures ranging from -5°C to 15°C. When used in combination with WANNATE®2208, the resulting foam products have excellent flame retardant properties and meet the B1 and B2 levels of the Classification of Combustion Performance of Building Materials and Products (GB 8624 – 2012).

The environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends can be applied to cement surfaces, brick surfaces, wood surfaces, and other substrates. They have strong adhesion and good product dimensional stability.

Product Applications

The product is applied to various spray insulation fields such as the roofs and floors of industrial and civil buildings like cold storages, food factories, and chemical plants, as well as the insulation layers of pipelines, storage tanks, and ships. It is especially suitable for low-temperature environments in autumn and winter.

The environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends are a fast-curing system. However, the strength of the foam surface may increase slowly at low temperatures, and the foam strength will be normal after complete curing. Before using the environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends, tests must be carried out first to ensure the reliability of the blend system for use in a specific project.

(1) The foaming of the environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends requires a material temperature of 25°C, a volume ratio of materials of 1:1, and manual mixing with an electric stirrer (2500 r/min).
(2) Operate in accordance with the precautions in this document. The overall density of the foam products obtained by the high-pressure spraying machine is greater than 40 kg/m³. If the free foaming density is increased, higher-density foam products can be obtained through spray construction.

Precautions for Use

The construction equipment for the environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends is a high-pressure spraying machine. Before construction, please check and calibrate the delivery ratio of the black and white materials and the mixing pressure of the high-pressure spraying machine.

The ambient temperature for spraying operations should be between -5°C and 15°C, the wind speed should not exceed 5 m/s (level 3 wind), the relative humidity should be less than 75%, and construction is not allowed in rainy days. When the ambient temperature during construction is lower than -5°C, reliable technical measures should be taken to ensure the spraying quality.

During spraying operations, control the temperature of the black and white materials entering the spray gun to be greater than 50°C, and ensure that the substrate is dry and clean. Control the thickness of each gun of foam within the range of 1 – 1.5 cm (excluding the primer layer). During construction, the next layer of spray can be carried out only when the surface of the previously sprayed polyurethane rigid foam is no longer sticky. Other relevant standards shall be implemented in accordance with national standards. If the above conditions are not met, the buyer shall bear all responsibilities.

Spraying operations shall be carried out in accordance with the Technical Specification for Rigid Polyurethane Foam Insulation and Waterproof Engineering (GB 50404 – 2007).

The construction site should be a fire – prohibited area with good ventilation, keep away from fire sources, and smoking is strictly prohibited. When there is hot work nearby, the hot work approval system must be strictly implemented, and corresponding safety measures and special personnel supervision should be carried out.

Before the formal construction of the project, the buyer must conduct tests in an environment consistent with the construction conditions to ensure the reliability of the blend system for use in a specific project. During formal construction, it is regarded that the buyer has recognized the qualified performance inspection of the product. If the above operations are not followed, the buyer shall bear all responsibilities.

Packaging Specifications

Storage (Use) Precautions

The blends should be stored in sealed containers to avoid absorbing water vapor. Therefore, during storage and transportation, the dryness and tightness of the containers must be ensured.

The environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends should be stored in a sealed manner in a cool and ventilated place at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight or long-term storage above 40°C to prevent affecting the product performance.

Shelf Life

Under suitable storage conditions, the shelf life of the environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends is 3 months. After 3 months, it can be used continuously after passing the inspection.

Safety Precautions

Direct contact with the environment-friendly polyurethane low-temperature sprayed rigid foam blends may cause moderate eye irritation and mild skin irritation, and may cause skin allergies. Repeated inhalation of high-concentration vapors may cause respiratory allergies. Seek medical advice immediately and take anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and other symptomatic treatment measures.

During operation, be cautious to prevent direct contact with the skin and splashing into the eyes. Wear necessary protective equipment (gloves, protective goggles, work clothes, etc.).

Once splashed on the skin or in the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Wash the skin with soapy water, and seek medical advice if necessary. In case of ingestion, seek medical advice immediately for symptomatic treatment.

Fire and Explosion Hazards

This product is not a flammable liquid, explosive, oxidizer, corrosive, toxicant, or radioactive hazard during storage and transportation, and it is not a dangerous good.

Fire-fighting Media: Carbon dioxide, foam, or chemical dry powder fire extinguishers can be used for fire-fighting. When there are no other fire-fighting agents, a large amount of foggy water can be sprayed. Once the fire is extinguished, the spilled materials should be cleaned up (see the Leakage and Spillage Treatment section).

Leakage and Spillage Treatment

Small amounts of leaked or spilled materials can be washed away with water. In case of a large leak, collect and recycle the materials, and wash the contaminated ground with water or detergents. The disposal of waste blends must comply with local government environmental regulations.
