WANNATE® HT-790B (Hexamethylene Diisocyanate-based Polyisocyanate Solution) is an aliphatic polyisocyanate solution.
Description
1. Product Application
WANNATE® HT-790B (Hexamethylene Diisocyanate-based Polyisocyanate Solution) is an aliphatic polyisocyanate solution. It consists of 90% HDI trimer and 10% butyl acetate. It is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with an aromatic odor at room temperature.

As a raw material for polyurethane production, WANNATE® HT-790B is mainly used as a curing agent component for light-stable two-component and fast-drying polyurethane coatings. The coatings provide excellent chemical resistance, weatherability, outstanding gloss retention and superior mechanical properties. Ideal co-reactants include polyacrylates, polyester polyols and alkyd resins.
Coating systems formulated with WANNATE® HT-790B are suitable for air-drying or baking applications, including automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinish, transportation vehicles, industrial products and plastic finishing.

4. Storage and Handling Precautions
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from ignition sources and heat. Keep containers tightly closed. Store separately from oxidizing agents, acids, alkalis, alcohols and food chemicals; do not store together.
WANNATE® HT-790B can be diluted with esters, ketones and aromatic hydrocarbons such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene, xylene, etc. It generally shows good miscibility with the above solvents, but the storage stability of the prepared solution must be tested. Only urethane-grade solvents (water content < 0.05%, free of reactive groups such as hydroxyl or amino) shall be used. Aliphatic hydrocarbons are not suitable as solvents.
Do not dilute WANNATE® HT-790B to a solid content below 40%. Solutions with low binder content may develop turbidity and precipitation after long-term storage.
5. Compatibility
WANNATE® HT-790B is generally compatible with aliphatic polyisocyanates, aromatic polyisocyanates, polyether polyols and polyacrylates. Compatibility testing of the formulated solution is required.
6. Shelf Life
This product is sensitive to moisture. Storage at elevated temperatures will cause an increase in viscosity and color number. When stored in the original unopened container under cool and dry conditions at 0–30 °C, the shelf life is 12 months.
