Product Introduction

The foaming agent of the roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) is an environmentally friendly foaming agent with an ultra – low thermal conductivity. When used in combination with WANNATE®2208, it can produce foam products with excellent flame – retardant properties. The composite can be applied to construction on cement surfaces, brick surfaces, wood surfaces, and other substrates. It has strong adhesion, good product dimensional stability, and excellent flame – retardant properties, with a combustion performance of B2 level (GB 8624 – 2012).

Product Uses

It is applied to the roof spraying insulation fields of cold storage, food factories, chemical plants, industrial buildings, and civil buildings. The roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) is a fast – curing system that can bear loads immediately and is suitable for the construction requirements of most spraying insulation fields. Before using the composite, it is necessary to conduct tests first to ensure the reliability of the composite system for use in specific projects.

Foaming Requirements

  1. The foaming of the roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) requires a material temperature of 25°C, a material volume ratio of 1:1, and manual mixing with an electric stirrer (2500r/min).
  2. When operating in accordance with the precautions in this manual, the overall density of the foam product obtained by the high – pressure spraying machine is greater than 35 (Type I), greater than 45 (Type II), and greater than 55 (Type III).
  3. The values provided in this document are typical test values. Specific data may vary slightly due to environmental conditions. For our company’s products, the listed data has no legal binding force.

Precautions for Use

  1. The construction equipment for the roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) is a high – pressure spraying machine. Before construction, please check and calibrate the delivery ratio of black and white materials and the mixing pressure of the high – pressure spraying machine.
  2. The suitable temperature for spraying operations is 10 – 40°C, the wind speed should not exceed 5m/s (Grade 3 wind), the relative humidity should be less than 75%, and construction is not allowed in rainy days. When the construction environment temperature is lower than 10°C, reliable technical measures should be taken to ensure the spraying quality.
  3. During spraying operations, control the temperature of black and white materials entering the spray gun to be greater than 30°C, and ensure that the substrate is dry and clean. Control the thickness of each gun of foam within the range of 1 – 1.5cm (excluding the primer layer). During construction, the next layer can be sprayed only when the surface of the previously sprayed polyurethane rigid foam is not sticky. Other relevant standards shall be implemented in accordance with national standards. If the above conditions are not met, all responsibilities shall be borne by the buyer.
  4. Spraying operations shall be carried out in accordance with GB 50404 – 2017 “Technical Specification for Rigid Polyurethane Foam Thermal Insulation and Waterproof Engineering”.
  5. The construction site should be a fire – prohibited area with good ventilation, away from fire sources, and smoking is strictly prohibited. When there is hot work nearby, the hot work approval system must be strictly implemented, and corresponding safety measures and special guardianship shall be taken.
  6. The buyer must conduct tests in an environment consistent with the construction conditions before the formal construction of the project to ensure the reliability of the composite system for use in specific projects. During formal construction, it is considered that the buyer has recognized the product’s performance inspection as qualified. If the above operations are not followed, all responsibilities shall be borne by the buyer.

Storage (Use) Precautions

  1. The composite should be stored in a sealed container to avoid absorbing water vapor. Therefore, during storage and transportation, it is necessary to ensure that the container is dry and sealed.
  2. The roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) should be stored in a cool, ventilated place at a room temperature of 5 – 35°C, sealed, and avoid direct sunlight or long – term storage above 40°C to prevent a large amount of foaming agent from volatilizing, affecting storage and product performance.

Shelf Life

Under suitable storage conditions, the shelf life of the roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) is 6 months. After 6 months, it can be used continuously after passing the inspection.

Safety Precautions

  1. Direct contact with the roof sprayed polyurethane rigid foam composite (Types I, II, and III) can cause moderate eye irritation and mild skin irritation, and can cause skin allergies. Repeated inhalation of high – concentration vapors can cause respiratory allergies. Seek medical attention immediately and take anti – inflammatory and anti – allergic symptomatic treatment measures.
  2. During operation, be careful to prevent direct contact with the skin and splashing into the eyes. Wear necessary protective equipment (gloves, protective glasses, work clothes, etc.).
  3. Once splashed on the skin or in the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water for at least 15 minutes, wash the skin with soapy water, and seek medical attention if necessary. In case of ingestion, seek medical attention immediately for symptomatic treatment.

Fire and Explosion Hazards

  1. This product is not classified as a flammable liquid, explosive, oxidizer, corrosive, toxicant, or radioactive hazardous material during storage and transportation, and is not a hazardous product.
  2. Fire – fighting media: Carbon dioxide, foam, or chemical dry powder fire extinguishers can be used for fire – fighting. When there is no other fire – fighting agent, a large amount of fog – like water can be sprayed. Once the fire is extinguished, the spilled materials should be cleaned up (see Leakage and Spillage Handling).
  3. Fire – fighting procedures: Normal protection.

Leakage and Spillage Handling

  1. Small amounts of leaked or spilled materials can be washed away with water. In case of a large leak, collect and recycle, and wash the contaminated ground with water or detergent. The disposal of waste composite materials must comply with local government environmental protection regulations.
