Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Keep away from incompatible materials and food containers. Store in the original container and keep it tightly sealed. No smoking, open flames or ignition sources. Protect containers from physical damage. Avoid contact with water, alcohols, strong alkalis, metal compounds or detergent solutions.

 

This material reacts with water to generate a large amount of foam, carbon dioxide and heat. Foaming in a confined space may cause pressure build-up. Isocyanates may corrode and embrittle certain plastics and rubbers.

 

WANNATE® IT-170BSplus can be diluted with polar solvents such as esters, ketones and ether esters, e.g., butyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Generally, it has good compatibility with the solvents listed above, but the storage stability of the prepared solution should be tested. Only urethane-grade solvents (water content < 0.05%, free of reactive groups such as hydroxyl and amino groups) shall be used.

 

Stable solutions with a minimum solid content of 20% can be prepared by diluting WANNATE® IT-170BSplus with xylene, toluene or high-boiling aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphtha 100 or aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures. Aliphatic solvents should not be added if an extended storage stability of the diluted solution is required. However, WANNATE® IT-170BSplus has certain compatibility with aliphatic solvents and can therefore be incorporated into coating systems containing aliphatic solvents.

 

In general, WANNATE® IT-170BSplus is compatible with the following products: aliphatic polyisocyanates (e.g., WANNATE® HT-100, HB-100), aromatic polyisocyanates, polyester polyols, polyacrylates and alkyd resins. Compatibility testing must be conducted before blending.

 

This product is sensitive to moisture. The shelf life is 6 months when stored in the original sealed container under cool and dry conditions at 0~30℃.

 

General Information:Storage at temperatures above 30℃ may cause an increase in viscosity and color number. Storage at temperatures below 0℃ may result in crystalline precipitation. Such solidification is reversible by brief heating and will not affect product quality.
