WANNATE HMDI

WANNATE® HMDI (4,4'-Methylene dicyclohexyl diisocyanate) is a dicyclohexyl aliphatic diisocyanate. It is a colorless or pale yellow, low-viscosity liquid at room temperature with a characteristic odor.This product belongs to the isocyanurate category.

As a raw material for polyurethane production, WANNATE® HMDI is suitable for manufacturing polyurethanes with excellent light stability, weather resistance, and outstanding mechanical properties. It is especially applicable for the production of elastomers, waterborne coatings, polyurethane dispersions, and photocurable urethane-modified acrylates.

WANNATE® HMDI is a clear, transparent liquid. Due to its reactive chemical nature, it readily reacts with water to form insoluble urea compounds and release carbon dioxide, which may cause drum swelling and increased viscosity. Therefore, during storage, containers must be kept strictly dry, tightly sealed, and protected with dry nitrogen.

 

If the product is stored below 25 °C, partial crystallization and precipitation may occur at the bottom of the container. In such cases, warm the product to 40–50 °C and shake well before use.

 

The product is sensitive to moisture. When stored in the original unopened container under cool and dry conditions at 0–30 °C, the shelf life is 12 months.
