Aquolin 163

Product Description

Aquolin® 163 is a water‑dispersible isocyanate curing agent based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). It is combined with aqueous polymer dispersions (such as polyurethane, polyacrylate, polyvinyl acetate resin, etc.) and water‑borne polyols for applications in water‑borne coatings and adhesives. Coatings mixed with Aquolin® 163 must be used within the pot‑life.

Aquolin® 163 can be diluted with solvents including propylene glycol methyl ether acetate (PMA), propylene glycol diacetate (PGDA), ethyl acetate, butyl acetate and others. Urethane‑grade solvents (water content < 0.05 %) are recommended for dilution, and practical tests shall be conducted prior to use.

Storage

Store in a dark, cool and dry location within 5‑35 °C with hermetically intact packaging. The shelf‑life is 12 months from the date of production. Performance evaluation is recommended before use if the shelf‑life has expired. Strictly protect the product against frost.

Water‑dispersible isocyanate curing agents are highly moisture‑sensitive. They react with water to generate carbon dioxide gas and urea. Carbon dioxide accumulation may increase container pressure and cause hazards. Prevent ingress of moisture in any form, as well as heavy humidity, heat and foreign substances. Use up promptly once packaging is opened.
