Product Description

Adwel® 1675 is an anionic aliphatic waterborne polyurethane dispersion designed for heat-activated waterborne polyurethane adhesives, capable of bonding various substrates including most natural and synthetic materials. Featuring fast crystallization rate and excellent initial tack, it is especially suitable for heat-activated lamination of automotive interior components. Adding appropriate dosage of water-dispersible isocyanate curing agent such as Aquolin® 166 can drastically improve bonding strength, hydrolysis resistance, heat resistance and other properties.

Solvent: Acetone < 1%. This product contains no alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO), organotin compounds or organic amine neutralizers.

Biocide dosage: 14 ppm CMIT/MIT (3:1 blend) and 200 ppm MBIT.

Precautions for Use

  1. Only deionized water shall be used for emulsion dilution; tap water may cause flocculation, demulsification and other abnormalities.
  2. Compatibility and storage stability tests must be conducted prior to mixing this product with other raw materials.
  3. The mixture after adding waterborne curing agent must be fully consumed within 4 hours. Any unused residual mixture shall not be poured back into the original adhesive container; otherwise the mixed glue will cure and become unusable after prolonged standing due to crosslinking reaction.

Storage

The shelf life of this product is six months from the production date. Complete performance evaluation is mandatory before use if the shelf life expires.

Recommended storage temperature range: 5–30°C. Storage below 5°C will lead to viscosity rise or irreversible damage to the product. Long-term storage at high temperatures may impair product performance and trigger sedimentation or coagulation.

Store away from light and keep packaging intact; otherwise water evaporation will form a surface film on the product.

Skinning and caking are unavoidable during storage and transportation owing to the film-forming characteristic of the product, so filtration must be performed before use.
