What is HCFC-141b?

141b is the abbreviation of “monofluorodichloroethane”, with a chemical formula of CCl2FCH3, and is widely used in polyurethane foam blowing agents. The chlorine atoms in the 141b molecule decompose under the action of ultraviolet rays, and the active chlorine atoms will react chemically with ozone molecules to decompose ozone into oxygen, thereby destroying the ozone layer. According to the provisions of the Montreal Protocol, 141b is included in the list of controlled substances.
