The drafting group of the Technical Specification for Prefabricated Ultra-low Energy Consumption Enclosure Structures was established

The construction industry is a key area for achieving my country’s “dual carbon” goals. Improving building energy efficiency and developing ultra-low energy consumption on a large scale are important paths to achieve building carbon emission reduction. The development of prefabricated buildings is also a national requirement and the general direction of the construction industry. The Technical Specification for Prefabricated Ultra-low Energy Consumption Enclosure Structures of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association combines the two hot trends of prefabrication and ultra-low energy consumption, and is achieved through efficient enclosure structures. It is very innovative and industry-leading.

On the morning of July 28, 2023, the establishment meeting and the first working meeting of the drafting group were grandly held at Wanhua Chemical’s Cishan Global R&D Center.

This meeting received great attention in the construction field. Nearly 100 leaders of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association, experts in the construction field, and participating units were invited to the meeting in a combination of online and offline methods. Before the meeting began , Deputy Director Zhang Shuai of Yantai Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau delivered a speech on behalf of Yantai Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department, welcoming the arrival of all experts and looking forward to this standard leading the construction industry to accelerate the development of prefabricated ultra-low energy consumption buildings.

Wanhua is the organizer of this standard launch meeting. Wanhua Chemical Group Chairman Liao Zengtai, Vice President Li Limin, and Wanhua Energy Saving Technology Group Chairman Wang Yaoxi attended the meeting together. Chairman Liao welcomed the convening of this standard meeting in Wanhua, expressing that the construction field is a very important downstream field for Wanhua. Through the construction of the Wanhua Talent Center Near Zero Energy Consumption Demonstration Project, Wanhua has actively practiced and explored, and applied innovative polyurethane enclosure structures in all directions. Academician Hou attended the meeting online and made He delivered an important speech. Gu Taichang, Secretary General of the Construction and Municipal Engineering Product Application Branch of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, Yang Jinchun, Deputy Secretary General, and Yuan Qi, Chief Engineer of China Building Standard Design Institute Co., Ltd., fully affirmed the organization and preparatory work of the conference and the organizing committee, and put forward very valuable and forward-looking guidance on the preparation of this technical specification. Dr. Wang Tonghui, senior engineer of China Building Standard Design Institute, gave a detailed report on the content and plan of the preparation of the standard. More than 20 heavyweight construction experts, represented by Professor Li Zhengrong, academician of the Japan Academy of Engineering and vice dean of the School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering of Tongji University, and Professor Li Zheng, deputy director of the Department of Civil Engineering of Tongji University, conducted in-depth discussions on the scope of application of the standard, the degree of detail of each discipline in the standard, and the way of expression, and put forward very specific and implementable opinions, which provided guidance for the next step of the preparation of the standard. The work of the system has pointed out the direction.

At this meeting, Jin Yanli, the person in charge of Wanhua Chemical’s building energy-saving market, introduced in detail Wanhua Chemical’s building energy-saving series of innovative products and application systems, allowing the experts to fully understand Wanhua Chemical’s long-term development and practical achievements in the field of construction, especially the importance of thermosetting polyurethane insulation materials in fire prevention, insulation thinning, and insulation system safety. In the subsequent standard discussion session, experts said that the safety of the insulation system should be emphasized in the content of the standard.

After the meeting, the expert leaders visited Wanhua Cishan Global R&D Center, Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park, and Wanhua Talent Center Project Near Zero Energy Consumption Demonstration Project, and further understood Wanhua. They highly praised and recognized Wanhua’s development and building energy-saving innovation achievements.
